Cobham Future

The future of Cobham is dear to all our hearts. In this section we will keep you informed of the many things that will affect the future of Cobham. One of the most significant developments is the formation of an independent Town Plan Committee.

Town Plan

We are delighted to report that the independent Town Plan Committee is moving forward. The organisation has now been established with Mr Nicholas Driver, a long-term resident of Cobham & Stoke D'Abemon as its Chairman. The project is to be known as Envisage.

It has been decided that the area covered by the Plan will comprise Cobham, Downside, Oxshott and Stoke D'Abemon. This initiative has the strong backing of both Surrey County Council and Elmbridge Borough Council. Over half the £40,000 needed has been promised, and the newly formed Steering Committee have already started the preparation work.

Two of our Committee members, Rev Robert Jenkins (Community matters) and Mrs Elizabeth Kennedy (Economic matters) will be involved directly in the Town Plan process. Volunteers will head the four Work Streams of: Transport, Environment, The Economy, and Community.

Volunteers will be needed to help with the data gathering, so if anyone wishes to volunteer please contact Mr Nicholas Driver on 01932 863098 or visit the Envisage website at www.envisage.org.uk
