Volunteer Jobs and Schedule

Listed below are the various volunteers jobs which need to be filled. There is a schedule which details the times when we need a volunteer for each job at the bottom of the page.

Volunteer Jobs

DUCK SALES (Various dates and venues)

  1. Sell duck tickets for the 4.00pm Duck Race on Heritage Day.
  2. Ticket prices: £1 for one ticket; £5 for 6 tickets; £10 for 12 tickets; £20 for 25 tickets
  3. Table and tickets will be delivered to the relevant venue.
  4. The table, ticket stubs and money will be collected at the end of the session.
  5. Optionally you can also dress up as a duck to promote sales (costumes provided)!

MANNING THE RIVER FOR DUCK RACE (11.9.10)

  1. Security duty to prevent children from getting in the river with the ducks and to ensure safety along the river path.
  2. Help with clearing up after Duck Race.

CAR PARKING (11.9.10)

  1. Manage the entry & exit of cars on the Leg O’Mutton Field.
  2. Direct cars to spaces.
  3. Take 50p per car except for exhibitors and volunteers who can park for free.
  4. Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.
  5. Give out programmes.

CLASSIC CARS (11.9.10)

  1. Supervise the old cars parked on the Leg O'Mutton Field.

CCHT TABLE (11.9.10)

  1. Sell membership, Heritage Walk Brochures & back Newsletters.
  2. Answer questions.  A Committee Member will be on duty to help with this.
  3. Central point for volunteer liaison.
  4. Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT Treasurer at end of day.
  5. Give out programmes.

GARDEN TICKETS (11.9.10/Three venues)

  1. Sell tickets for Garden Visit.  The ticket covers all three venues.
  2. Ensure that visitors who do not buy a ticket from you have bought one at another gate.
  3. Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.
  4. Supervise the garden as required
  5. Give out information sheet.

TOMBOLA (11.9.10)

  1. Collect tombola prizes from Church Stile House at the beginning of the day.
  2. Sell Tombola tickets and manage the tombola prizes.
  3. Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.

MEET AND GREET FOR STALL HOLDERS (11.9.10/At each end of Church Street)

  1. Stop cars coming into Church Street, except briefly for stallholders who need to off-load.
  2. Work from the plan of the stalls and direct stall holders to their pitch.
  3. Ensure that stall holders’ vehicles are removed from Church Street ASAP.

VOLUNTEER LIAISON (11.9.10)

  1. Check off volunteer names on arrival.
  2. Use floaters as necessary.
  3. Manage light refreshments.

FLOATERS (11.9.10)

  1. Help as required including with clearing up at the end.

HELP ON FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE HERITAGE DAY (11.9.10)

  1. Help will be required with blowing up balloons, putting up bunting and notices.

HELP EARLY ON HERITAGE DAY (11.9.10)

  1. Put out tables and chairs for CCHT.
  2. Signs and dustbins
  3. Electrical cables.
  4. As required.

HELP ON HERITAGE DAY TO CLEAR UP AT THE END  (11.9.10)

  1.  Help as needed to clear notices/bunting/tables/rubbish, etc.

 

HELP WITH LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS (11.9.10)

  1. Help with tickets at the door and guiding customers

 
NOTES FOR VOLUNTEERS

  1. VOLUNTEERS MUST REPORT TO THE CCHT TABLE TO SIGN IN.
  2. VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK FOR FREE ON THE LEG O’MUTTON FIELD AND WILL BE PROVIDED WITH LIGHT REFRESHMENTS.
