Volunteer Jobs and Schedule
Listed below are the various volunteers jobs which need to be filled. There is a schedule which details the times when we need a volunteer for each job at the bottom of the page.
Volunteer Jobs
DUCK SALES (Various dates and venues)
- Sell duck tickets for the 4.00pm Duck Race on Heritage Day.
- Ticket prices: £1 for one ticket; £5 for 6 tickets; £10 for 12 tickets; £20 for 25 tickets
- Table and tickets will be delivered to the relevant venue.
- The table, ticket stubs and money will be collected at the end of the session.
- Optionally you can also dress up as a duck to promote sales (costumes provided)!
MANNING THE RIVER FOR DUCK RACE (11.9.10)
- Security duty to prevent children from getting in the river with the ducks and to ensure safety along the river path.
- Help with clearing up after Duck Race.
CAR PARKING (11.9.10)
- Manage the entry & exit of cars on the Leg O’Mutton Field.
- Direct cars to spaces.
- Take 50p per car except for exhibitors and volunteers who can park for free.
- Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.
- Give out programmes.
CLASSIC CARS (11.9.10)
- Supervise the old cars parked on the Leg O'Mutton Field.
CCHT TABLE (11.9.10)
- Sell membership, Heritage Walk Brochures & back Newsletters.
- Answer questions. A Committee Member will be on duty to help with this.
- Central point for volunteer liaison.
- Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT Treasurer at end of day.
- Give out programmes.
GARDEN TICKETS (11.9.10/Three venues)
- Sell tickets for Garden Visit. The ticket covers all three venues.
- Ensure that visitors who do not buy a ticket from you have bought one at another gate.
- Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.
- Supervise the garden as required
- Give out information sheet.
TOMBOLA (11.9.10)
- Collect tombola prizes from Church Stile House at the beginning of the day.
- Sell Tombola tickets and manage the tombola prizes.
- Deliver any uncollected monies to CCHT table at end of the day.
MEET AND GREET FOR STALL HOLDERS (11.9.10/At each end of Church Street)
- Stop cars coming into Church Street, except briefly for stallholders who need to off-load.
- Work from the plan of the stalls and direct stall holders to their pitch.
- Ensure that stall holders’ vehicles are removed from Church Street ASAP.
VOLUNTEER LIAISON (11.9.10)
- Check off volunteer names on arrival.
- Use floaters as necessary.
- Manage light refreshments.
FLOATERS (11.9.10)
- Help as required including with clearing up at the end.
HELP ON FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE HERITAGE DAY (11.9.10)
- Help will be required with blowing up balloons, putting up bunting and notices.
HELP EARLY ON HERITAGE DAY (11.9.10)
- Put out tables and chairs for CCHT.
- Signs and dustbins
- Electrical cables.
- As required.
HELP ON HERITAGE DAY TO CLEAR UP AT THE END (11.9.10)
- Help as needed to clear notices/bunting/tables/rubbish, etc.
HELP WITH LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS (11.9.10)
- Help with tickets at the door and guiding customers
NOTES FOR VOLUNTEERS
- VOLUNTEERS MUST REPORT TO THE CCHT TABLE TO SIGN IN.
- VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK FOR FREE ON THE LEG O’MUTTON FIELD AND WILL BE PROVIDED WITH LIGHT REFRESHMENTS.
