Planning Applications - Mar 2012

There is a nasty planning application (application no 2012/0712) for a 42 ft high telecommunications pole at the corner of Miles Lane and Ashcroft Park - nearly twice as high as the surrounding roof heights - which is a highly residential area.

The location of the pole will significantly impact on the amenity of this quiet and attractive residential area. The location will create a dangerous blackspot. It is totally out of keeping with the surrounding area and would be an absolute eyesore.

Comments have to be in by 21st March. If you have an aversion to phone masts this is a bad one and worth an objection to Elmbridge planning or you can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (see our website page "Planning, Registering your Objection" for details of how to object).

We have also just received notification of yet another application to develop the waste ground between the High Street and Church Street.  If you originally objected you will have received notification as well.

We have still to analyse this application and discuss it. It is certainly better than their previous three attempts but it is still dense. It is premature to assess our position but if we think the development still falls short of what we consider is acceptable we shall object with vigour.

Some of Your Comments

" I have been in touch with both volunteers and they certainly enjoyed their day in spite of the weather. They made some useful contacts as well. I am pleased that your turnout wasn’t affected too much by the weather." - Pets as Therapy - Heritage Day Stallholder"
