Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust

CCHT Open Meeting Wed 20th June 2012

The next CCHT Open Meeting will be taking place this week at 8pm on Wed 20th June 2012 at the Cobham Village Hall, Lushington Drive, Cobham, KT11 2LU.

The are a number of important items on the Agenda and the main one is Planning Application number 2012/1721 the New Cobham Library and Community Hub, Cedar Road. Together with the CDRA, the Cobham Chamber of Commerce and Envisage, we have been engaged in consultation over this very important development.

Your Trust Committee has major concerns about the access and design, and it is vital we consult with our members. This project is one of the most important schemes to come before us and to Cobham in many years; we must make sure that it is the very best that can be achieved for Cobham. If we are not careful we could be saddled with a "white elephant" in an inaccessible part of the centre. Others may feel that this is the best deal on the table and we shouldn't walk away. So come and hear what is planned by Shanly Homes and Surrey CC and share with us your thoughts. Consultation ends on 2nd July although we are challenging Elmbridge that the time allowed is inadequate.

There will also be the opportunity to update you on the Riverhill Project. We will also want to bring you up to date in relation to other planning matters, and items of interest. Mary Taylor of the Cobham Village Hall will talk about their major modernisation plans. We shall also be launching our sale of Duck Tickets for the annual Heritage Day Duck Race!

The open meeting will conclude with a glass of wine, tea or coffee.

We do hope you will be join us on Wednesday evening.
