Draft Guildford Plan - Consultation now ends on Fri 26 Sept 2014

Update: Guildford Borough Council has extended the consultation to midnight on Fri 26th September after confusion at the council as to the time when responses to the consultation would be accepted. The previous date was Mon 22nd Sept 2014.

At midnight on Fri 26th Sept 2014 consultation closes on the Draft Guildford plan which amongst other things includes proposals for a 2,000 dwelling development on the site of the old Wisley Airfield. We as a group are very concerned at the implications of this draft plan and the possible Wisley housing development.

We have already submitted an earlier comment and shall be submitting further comments on Monday. Although we are on the periphery of this area it could still affect us for two reasons: weakening and developing the green belt will have repercussions on all green belt land and particularly that land nearby ie. in our area. Secondly the proposed development at Wisley will cause major problems to our already inadequate infrastructure and overcrowded roads.

The Wisley Action Group have an excellent website: www.wisleyactiongroup.co.uk where guidance on submissions is available. But you only have until midnight on Fri 26th September 2014 to submit your comments to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

So if you wish to submit a comment please do so post haste.
