New Cobham Heritage Publication - "Walks in and Around Cobham"

Latest Publication - Available Now

One of the Cobham Heritage Trust’s key aims has been to encourage local residents to search out, explore and treasure their local environment and heritage.

With this in mind we began publishing a local walk in each of our quarterly Cobham Heritage Membership Magazines, to help our readers and residents to make the most of their local area.

Due to popular request, we have now updated each of these walks and are publishing them together for the first time in one volume, available now to all.

Softback with 65 pages - Book size A5

Authors: Sally Ollett & Sue Prentice

This new book is available direct from Cobham Heritage through the Cobham Heritage Shop website for £7 plus £2 P&P and from the Cobham Bookshop for £8.99.

Following the success of the "Cobham Remembers, the Great War and its impact on a Surrey Village", we are pleased to announce the publication of its companion book "Cobham Remembers World War II and its impact on a Surrey Village". This follows a similar format to the first book and has been expanded to almost 600 pages. The hardback book provides a nostalgic, poignant and insightful view of Cobham and the surrounding villages during World War II, with interesting anecdotes and rare photographs. This social history has been combined with a Roll of Honour recognising the local men who died in the service of their country.

After receiving their copy, one of our recent buyers said: "Having just received my copy of the book, I send you my appreciation and congratulations on an excellent job that you have done."

Copies can be ordered direct from Cobham Heritage at £19.00 per copy plus £3.50 postage & packing for one book and £7.50 postage & packing for up to 4 books. Postage & packing is free if collected from one of our Open Meetings. To order, please order and pay online through our online shop at shop.cobhamheritage.org.uk/.

The book is also available for £21.00 from:

The Cobham Bookshop, 12A Anyards Road, Cobham KT11 3JE and

Farrants, 15-19 High Street, Cobham, KT11 3DH.

This fascinating hardback book of almost 600 pages has been painstakingly researched by the authors Graeme S. R. Austin and David J. Cooke.

New Book - Street Cobham, A Guide and History - Available Now

Street Cobham BookCobham Conservation and Heritage Trust is delighted to announce the publication of a new book in the series "A Guide and History" written by our local historian Dr David Taylor.

The ancient parish of Cobham was once made up of three individual settlements or tithings. These were Church Cobham, Downside and Street Cobham. Earlier books in this series have featured Church Cobham and Downside as well as the Tilt, and this book completes the series by providing a brief history of Street Cobham highlighting the history and historic buildings of this important part of Cobham.

Generously illustrated with many old photographs.

Some of Your Comments

" I just wanted to congratulate you all for the recent improvements/ resurfacing to the paths that run between Leigh Hill, Hogshill Lane and Cedar Road. I personally use these paths regularly and these improvements make the paths more pleasant to use and will surely encourage others to take advantage of them."
