Wisley Airfield Development Update from WAG - 6 Jan 2023

Please see the message below from “WAG” (the umbrellas organisation of various groups coordinating opposition to the Wisley airfield 2100 homes development):

Dear WAG Supporter,

Happy New Year.

A short update for you. You will recall that our KC submitted a general holding objection to the planning application for housing on the FWA pending detailed comments from the various experts we’ve hired. We have had initial sight of the transport expert’s comments – there remains a huge amount of information that is missing from the applicant and this makes it very difficult to deal with. GBC have been asked by our expert and others to require TW to fill in the gaps so that an accurate assessment of the impact can be made. Obviously the reason the information is lacking is because with the correct vehicle movement numbers the roads will become gridlocked.. The air quality expert is in the final stages of his report and we anticipate the planning consultant and the ecology experts will finalise their initial comments later this month.

We understand that the likely date for the planning committee to determine this application is 13th March 2023.

As part of our continued effort to campaign against the development of 2,100 houses on 300 acres of prime agricultural land by Taylor Wimpey at ‘Three Farms Meadows’ near Wisley, Surrey, we have set up a new Twitter page, under the handle @ActionWisley.

The Twitter page will highlight the many issues of the development, raise awareness to those who don’t already know about the development, and look to galvanise further support.

We would be grateful for you to show your support for our page by following and promoting our content.

Together we will stop the development at ‘Three Farms Meadows’.

Thanks for your continued support.
